Why Massage Therapy?

Massage Therapy benefits in a San Diego Gym can be an invaluable component to any fitness program. Not only does the body need activity and strength to be healthy, but lengthening muscles and being sure that they are balanced is critical in everything from injury prevention, pain management, athletic performance, good circulation, better sleep, improving posture, and so much more. Our Massage Therapists offer the following options:

Sports Massage

Any type of athlete, from the weekend jogger to the serious professional, will benefit from sports massage.  The techniques are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice.  Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements, sports massage therapy is gaining popularity as an important component in a balanced training program.  It can enhance athletic performance, recovery, and also address injury treatment.

Integrated Manual Therapy (IMT)

This massage uses therapeutic assessment, manipulation and movement of loco motor soft tissues to prevent, reduce or eliminate chronic pain or injuries throughout the body.  This is utilized to restore structural balance throughout the body which allows focus on the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, trauma, sports injuries and chronic pain.

Thai Massage

This incorporates aspects of yoga, acupressure, energy balancing & massage.  The massage practitioner will help clients move into their stretch, while respecting the body’s flexibility limits and slowly move to reach the edge of their flexibility but not beyond.  This type of stretching is called passive-assisted.  Some of the stretch is administered on a soft floor mat with clients fully clothed in loose, comfortable attire suitable for deep stretching.  Practitioners can use their hands, feet, knees, elbows & legs as necessary to achieve the best results.  No oil is used.

Deep Tissue

This technique focuses on one or two areas of the body in a session.  A series of deep compression’s is used.  Pressure is increased as the muscle relaxes, releasing tension and chronic muscle pain.

Combination

Our combination massage therapy blends a variety of techniques to address individual needs.
